ATV Training

Today over five million people ride ATVs for both work and play. If you’d like to get the most enjoyment possible out of your ATV, sign up today for the ATV RiderCourse in your area. This is an exciting, enlightening outdoor adventure. Bring your friends and the whole family. Everyone will have a great time, and learn the basic techniques for riding all-terrain vehicles responsibly.

0403001737bProper instruction and practice are important because ATVs handle differently from other vehicles, such as motorcycles and cars.

Developed by the ATV Safety Institute, the ATV RiderCourse provides hands-on training that includes pre-ride inspection, starting and stopping, quick turns, hill riding, emergency stopping and swerving, and riding over obstacles. All in one fast-paced, activity-filled, half day program. The course also covers protective gear, local laws, finding places to ride, and environmental concerns. Students receive the ATV Rider’s Handbook to take home. For the majority of new ATV purchasers, this program is provided free of charge.

As the ATV market has expanded, private industry and government agencies are increasingly using ATVs in their daily operations. Law enforcement, military installations, land management, rescue operations, oil production and farming use ATVs as their daily workhorses in varied utility applications. The need to have their employees trained in ATV rider safety became apparent and is also available through ASI. Some organizations may additionally find that an in-house ATV safety program is justified. To enroll in an ATV RiderCourse, call the national, toll-free enrollment number, 1-800-887-2887.
